Realizing that what we tweet or post could come back to bite us, everyone should understand that free speech comes at high price. To a good extent, the public of the western world brought this dystopia on itself by its unrestrained love affair with sharing data of all sorts on Google, Instagram, and Facebook, the ultimate result being the imposition of a social credit score, which could keep individuals out of the marketplace when prophesied tyrants take control of the reins of government. Cyber-attacks, worms, viruses, identity theft, and ransomware have reached pandemic proportions today, creating a burgeoning industry offering data security and protection for a fee. The governmental intrusions into privacy satirized by the 1992 movie Sneakers have become a grim reality.
